Celtic vs Dunfermline

Whether it was the upcoming important Milan encounter or the way second from bottom Dunfermline just turned up to be beaten, this 3-0 win at Celtic Park was lacking. Certainly the expectance before the game was a comfortable win for Celtic having witnessed a number of thrashings of the Pars in the past but I'd hoped for a little more entertainment value.  Surely a walk in the park like this was an ideal time for Juninho to show off his Brazilian wizardry, show boat a little and get his name on the score sheet for the first time. But it was not to be.

It wasn't til nearer the end of the game when 2 of Celtic's most promising youngsters were introduced that I saw anything like I'd been hoping to witness. Ross Wallace and Aiden McGeady linked up well with Wallace unlucky on a number of occasions not to add to the hat trick he scored against Falkirk in midweek. The best opportunity being one set up by a beautiful long diagonal ball from Alan Thompson sending Wallace through on goal.

The goals came from Varga and Camara (2). It was good to see Camara get on the scoresheet twice. I'm still undecided over him but if he keeps banging in the goals - 5 in about as many starts so far - you can't help but like him.

Hopefully there'll be less games of this nature as the rest of the season unfolds but for now it feels like we're just waiting for the next European tie to come along. A drab atmosphere (if you can call it so much as an "atmosphere") and a far from captivating match makes it no surprise that it's a lot easier to get a ticket for Celtic league matches these days than it used to be.
